Regarding the news circulated by Russian media that Moni Nikolov will play for Lokomotiv Novosibirsk next season, we sought comment from Vladimir Nikolov. Nikolov is currently in the USA, where today the Long Beach State team (ranked #1) will face the UCLA team (ranked #3) in a repeat of last year's NCAA final (UCLA won 3:1 and became champion).
"At this stage, in February, Moni is not going anywhere," commented Nikolov senior on the news. "There is interest in Simeon from 4 teams from Italy, 1 from France, and 1 from Poland. Now 1 Russian team has been added to the 'queue'," explained the volleyball legend. "You'll just have to wait a bit before his future becomes clear," concluded the former captain of the national team.
