This morning, Roberto Piazza, the new head coach of the Iranian national volleyball team, held his first press conference at the National Football Academy of Iran, volleyball.it reports. The contract was confirmed by the Iranian federation. The Italian coach, who leads Allianz Milano, arrived in Tehran today, where he met with the President of the Iranian Federation, Seyed Milad Taghavi, to discuss the team's future plans. Piazza visited the national team's facilities with the head of the delegation, Amir Khoshkhabar, after which he signed a four-year contract with the federation. The agreement is a "2+2" formula, with the possibility of extension or termination depending on the results achieved. In his first official statement, Roberto Piazza thanked for the warm welcome and explained his vision for Iranian volleyball: "I am very grateful for this opportunity. I want to follow in the footsteps of Julio Velasco, changing the vision of volleyball in Iran, as he did in Italy and Iran itself." The specialist emphasized the importance of a long-term technical project, which will start in May.
